Canada
The second largest country in the world, covering over nine million square kilometers, Canada is divided into ten provinces and three territories that each have their own identity and particularities. As a bilingual country, Canada's two official languages are English and French. In certain regions, aboriginal languages such as Iroquoian and Algonquian still strive.
Known for its four distinct seasons, Canada is caracterized by its diversity in climate. During the automn months, forests display reds, oranges and yellows. In the winter, the country is blanketed in white and people take advantage to ice skate on frozen lakes or ski down impressive mountain slopes. Spring is symbolic of rebirth. Trees bud and birds come back from the south. Summer is the season of festivities where everyone celebrates during outdoor festivals and activites across the country.
Québec
Located in the east of Canada, over seven million people live in the Francophone province. Québec is known for its language, its culture, its institutions and its eleven aboriginal nations. Still, with all the various language groups and socio-cultural diversity, French is Québec's official language.
Montréal
Montréal is the most populated city in Canada after Toronto and is a major centre for commerce, culture, finance and international affairs. Beneath the city, sheltered from the weather, you can find a large underground network of shopping malls, offices, boutiques and restaurants, all linked to the metro system and transport terminals.
Representing one of the largest bilingual communities in the world, Montréal is where English and French are spoken. With its European flair, the city attracts people from all over to come and live here which makes for a very festive and multi-cultural city overflowing with creativity.
