How we are organized
Students of all levels of education can register for our courses. Our placement test will determine the best language level for you to begin your studies at MILC.
Four Golden Rules For Our Language Learners
The Montreal International Language Center has four golden rules that all students must respect in order to optimize the learning process and maintain a high quality of language training.
-
Speak in the language you are studying, whether you are in class, between classes or anywhere in the school.
-
Attend classes diligently because your teacher takes attendance every day and you need to have attended 80% of your classes to pass your level.
-
Advise your teacher if you are unable to attend a class due to illness or for any other reason.
-
Come to class prepared with your homework done; the passing grade is 70% for you to move on to the next level.
Language Level Changes
Your evaluation test is designed to target your exact language level. If ever you feel like you have been placed in a level that does not correspond to your needs, you must speak with your teacher first to determine the best solution for you. The only way you can change levels is if your teacher and the administration approve this change.
For new students:
You have 3 days following the beginning of your language course to discuss with your teacher and have him or her, as well as administration, to approve a change of level.
For students already registered in a program:
In order to be exempt from doing a language level, you must have a final grade of 85% or more in your current level and must have attended at least 80% of your classes. In addition, you have 3 days after the beginning of classes to pass the exam of the level you wish to skip with a grade above 85%.
Certificates and Attestations
At the end of your language studying experience, you can apply for a certificate as well as an attestation letter of studies.
